There is Suffering and Understanding

I discovered peace in the evening on a slow walk around the block with my companionable dogs.  A storm front moving in from the Ohio River valley toward me and I walked into the wind smelling the moisture on dry earth.

I suffered today as I tried to make decisions about what was best for myself and my family.  I reached out to friends and found compassion and was given advice.

I was given understanding when my partner took me to coffee in the morning with my son.  She listened to me and helped me find some calm in this storm.

Moving slowly, but relentlessly along my path.  I chose to step on a painful or precarious rock or pass each by.  Today I do not feel regret and temptation walks along with me.
