YouTube Custom URL

This is a targeted request for help. When I transitioned my YouTube presence from mostly-watcher to creator I ended up needing to make a new channel and identity with that platform to do so. Ultimately, this move should mean very little to consumers of the things I create, but it has complicated my relationship with YouTube as a platform. Basically, we’ve had to start over as if from scratch.Right now, my channel can only be reached from this URL “https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZOYHrsS2eDI5nGWv0kyFMQ” which is, unfortunately, a big, hairy, and unmemorable mess. In order to satisfy YouTube’s “Custom URL” requirements I have to complete the following quests:To create a custom URL for your channel, your account needs to:

  • Have 100 or more subscribers.
  • Be at least 30 days old.
  • Have an uploaded profile picture.
  • Have uploaded banner image.

The latter two have been taken care of thanks to some super collaboration between Jeffery Witty and me, and the time requirement will soon cease to be a worry. However, I’m currently 98 people short for the subscriber requirement.

Even if you never watch a video of mine from start to finish, I can’t tell you how much of a difference it would make if you clicked subscribe.

Update: Just made it half way there! Can’t tell you how grateful I am for good friends and family. Stay tuned, more trail stories on the way.
